I finally finished it. I know it‘s a classic I did love the characters in the book but man some of the side bars about military movements and politics made me want to cry I was so bored. #chunksterchallenge2020

Amazing had me staying up until 2am to finish. I just had to know what happened. I was audibly gasping at the twists and turns halfway through best book I‘ve read in awhile
Not to often do I find something that hits me right where it hurts. The longing and needed of books as a small child has transformed into my need for a personal library as an adult. This character is just in awe of the books that surround her in her fiancée house I would be too if I was presented into a room like that.
Hollywood History mixed with monsters; yes please! This is great book about Milicent Patrick and her contributions to the monster world. Wonderfully written with a feminist twist that it makes you want to stand up and say yes girl let‘s go.
It was a cozy story with a fairy tale retelling which is so my wheelhouse! It was great to read this about Russia while I have been freezing here on the east coast talk about feeling the setting.
Finished the 6th installment of the outlander series. Liked this one a lot more then the one before. To me the medical stuff in this book was more interesting and I love when the characters drive the story. Yes there were a lot of kidnappings in this book but I‘m not mad at it. Throw in some good American Revolution stuff and I am all in. Totally redeemed from the last book!
It took me awhile to get into this one. Part 2&3 were great and then the last part was kind of just blah.
The premise had me all in, 1940‘s so much yes! I think for me I was hoping for more then just a fashion book. It was ok but it left me wanting something a little bit more.
Ok maybe it is the bad book hangover talking but here goes. I almost quit on this book for the first 90 pages or so I hated every character. They were all just horrible people with no redeeming qualities which is not something I like at all. The second was much better, the step through time and how it brought it back to first section was nice. Still over all it was a meh
So good, this book made me smile and then cry. At one point I felt as if my heart was ripped out of my chest but the ending was perfect. I tip my hat to the author. This novel was engrossing to the point that I didn‘t want to stop reassign. Trigger warning: child molestation
So interesting new twist on an old favorite, what can I say I am a sucker for retelling of fairy tales of any kind.
Nothing like a good mystery while doctors are trying to figure out the mystery that is building in your child. Kept my mind off of things while trying to figure out the murder. Hate to say it but I didn‘t figure it out before the end; I kind of like it that way!
Middle grade but trying to save fairy tales and themselves these 2 girls have to bind together to get it done. One is evil one is good but friendship helps them through. Can‘t wait to give this to my niece to read.
Ok now most of the books are not that great, this one was awesome! I flew through it! There were metaphysic things and police work and less hard core sex scenes which is what I prefer. Just so good!
I am such trash for these books I will always pick them up and love them. I can‘t help it I love me some Grandma Mazur she makes me giggle.
Fun cute and feel good sometimes you just need that
No no no! Child abuse, rape even at the hands of monsters team to much! I‘ve read a lot of paranormal romance and to much blood and things. For me it just crossed some serious lines. Must now read happy and fluffy!
It was good but I‘m left at the end thinking “what in the world?” Some parts were really bloody and gory which is fine but I‘m still trying to figure out the motivations behind some of the characters. Maybe that‘s the point I don‘t really know. I wish there was a confused option for this one.
Very character driven with a mystery, the last 100 pages stole my breath and had me on the edge of my seat. Trigger warnings: rape and murder
Fun chic lit book! Yes the characters were predictable but sometimes you just need that.
Least favorite of the series so far, I still love the characters but if I had to read anymore about penicillin experiments I might have cried it got so technical that I struggled with portions of this one.
What does good or evil really look like? Such a cute fun book. Nice middle grade book, I am always on the lookout for new titles for my niece and I definitely think that this will be heading to her next.
I‘ve tried twice with this book and I just can‘t do it. I‘m so bored and I find myself keep saying “why should I care?”
While the writing was great, I felt the ended to be really unsatisfying. Good mystery and mystique surrounding the water but I just feel that the ending could have been stronger. I almost felt like she was trying to put to many things in one story line.
Always a fun ride, a little slow to begin with but then it picked up and I couldn‘t put it down. I love trying to figure out the puzzles in these books. I definitely did not figure it out this time though, good fun!
I love Christopher Moore, he makes Shakespeare fun! This one is a mix of Othello and Merchant of Venice with a dragon shagging a fool to top it all. Good fun!
I have a serious wheelhouse of historical fiction. This one was 1920‘s New York prohibition era. Undercover agents trying to flush out a gin smuggling ring. Square so much fun! One big drawback there was a component of modern era which sort of fit in to round out the story but to me I don‘t think it was needed. I felt that it almost pulled me out of the story.
So intense, couldn‘t stop thinking about it even when I stopped reading.
It was a good but felt like it dragged in a few spots
I enjoyed it, the foreshadowing with the pirate lover inserts and I also loved being able to identify in the beginning with the young girl who just so wanted to leave the children‘s section at the library.
“Each seemed to me to be engaged in the same struggle- the challenge of abandoning control; the challenge of opening themselves with complete trust to the other. My brother had turned the same pages that I had, but read and entirely different story.” Page 128
Book of transformation through hardship, compelling and at times humorous
