Not sure how I feel about this one. The idea is great and I love the world-building, but there are some elements which are slightly jarring. For instance, a lot of the dialogue is quite stilted and lacks a natural flow, and I'm struggling to get a clear idea of the character of Tally, as a lot of her actions seem somewhat contradictory.
Nevertheless, I'm intrigued to see where this story goes and look forward to reading on.

Here we go with the most recent installment of Mass' ToG series. I must admit that the books have had my interest waning towards the end, but I feel invested enough in the characters to it out to the end.

I'm sorry to say that this wasn't what I was expecting. I'm not disputing that it's a good book—it is—but it's just not to my taste.
I struggle to read anything that doesn't have a high element of fantasy, so that's probably why I didn't get on with this book. The few chapters I read were slow and full of exposition and just didn't hook me in.

Another great instalment in this action-packed series. I have such admiration for all the thought that has gone into these books and I struggle to fathom how one mind can concoct such complex and ingenious plot lines. Every new twist had my jaw on the floor. If you like fantasy, READ THIS SERIES!!!

I am so glad I tried this series. This installment read an awful lot quicker than the last one, I'm glad to say, and was positively brimming with battles and betrayals and vicious scheming. I will forever Marvel at Sarah J. Maas' beautiful writing and immersive worlds, and though certain aspects may take you a few moments to wrap your head around their complexity, the story as a whole is just spectacular and ingenious.

Finally finished Heir of Fire! It was not the book so much as my insanely busy schedule which made me take so long. Although the beginning was very slow and I didn't like some of the new characters, the ending more than made up for it and I can't wait to start on the next one!
Bottom line: stick with it. It's worth it in the end.

This is probably the longest it's ever taken me to read a book, but I'm nearing the end now. After a VERY slow start and some annoying POV changes, the storyline has finally picked up, and I can't wait to get to the end!
