Eye of the Oracle | Bryan Davis

After spending fifty forevers reading Eye of the Oracle, I've FINALLY finished! Funny, it took me around three days to read it last time. But that was back in my pre-teen days when I read as fast as I inhaled food. I've been challenging myself to read all of Bryan Davis's works and this is number five out of thirty-some-odd.

I wanted to love this book, I really did. But Siria's fixation on Linden was annoying. I honestly wanted Linden to get lost or die. (I'm not a romantic, okay?) Other than that, it was pretty good. I just wish the author had stuck with the actual plotline instead of having Siria worry only about her relationship with her boyfriend instead of, you know, the fate of the world.

Just finished rereading Raising Dragons after ten years! Once again, I was enthralled by the mix of magic, faith, and Arthurian legends!

Have you read Raising Dragons?

A great sequel to a great series! Loved the extra world-building and answers to questions, especially ones that involved Kora's mother.

Anyone else read A Curse of Gold Yet?

Another okay book. The mystery aspect was pretty good but I couldn't really connect with Aissa the main character like I wanted.

Anyone else read this yet?

Blood Heir | Amlie Wen Zhao

Pickpick

I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. There were a few things that could have been fixed (like making it clear that Ana becomes a different person when using her magic instead of her going back and forth between hating it and reveling in it). But despite its flaws, Blood Heir was actually pretty interesting.

The Oddling Prince | Nancy Springer
post image
Mehso-so

I'm quite proud of how this picture came out, if I'm going to be honest! It's so pretty for a book I wasn't too keen on.

The Oddling Prince was a good book, in the way of the writing was good, the structure was good, the originality was good. But the plot could have been better. It was a good idea, but it was executed in an odd way. That and the relationship between the brothers was very sudden and bordered on romantic, which was weird.

"Long live the Revolution." With all his strength, the red-haired man smashed the burning torch onto the stage.

Just reading Blood Heir and hiding from the world.

Am I the only one who feels sad about the rioting? I mean, Floyd's death was a tragedy, but violence is never solved with violence. And a lot of people are taking advantage of others at this time.

I hope everyone is staying safe. ❤

This has left me absolutely giddy! My pride and joy, my book baby, A Star So Bound and Broken, is a semifinalist in the Fire Awards contest!!!!

It's a contest for unpublished novels and the winner just might get a publishing contract! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

"I don't have to stand to my feet, I just have to open my eyes."

This was one of the most original books I've read since The Lord of the Rings. It was that good.

On the other hand, there was a lot of typos which was distracting. That and the beginning was super confusing. But besides that, it was pretty good.

"Cory couldn't break her heart, as Father had broken Mother's. She swore she'd never let herself love him so much that it destroyed her." - Beth from Agnes at the End of the World

Kelly McWilliams, the author, gave me this candle styled after Beth, the sister of Agnes, the heroine of the story. Beth was a brave soul, if a little brash. I loved her anyway.

I can't wait for this book to come out!!!

It will forever be weird to see my sister's name in a book. She sewed a costume for the author and he repaid her by naming a Windborne princess after her.

The book is The Forsaken Continent, by Wayne Thomas Bats on. It's amazing! Despite seeing my sister's name. 😉

Just a nest of pre-order goodies...😊. You can get all of these if you preorder today!!

I loved this book so much! It's really good! It features a girl who grew up in a cult and decides to escape with her brother who has diabetes in order top save him. And she ends up in a world she never thought possible, a world ravaged by a pandemic.

'Tingling rushed up his fingertips. He glanced at his hands. Though he saw nothing, he felt...everything. A buzzing. An iciness hotter that anything he'd encountered before.'

I would have tagged Accelerant, but they only have Embers in the library. I'll change it when it's added. 😉
