This book is outstanding, but I expect it‘s not for everyone. The protags‘ angst resonates w/introvert and socially anxious who cannot avoid a life of near-constant social interactions. This is not to say that our (self-styled) Murderbot is wilting or insipid. Like many misunderstood wallflowers, MB‘s opinions are strong and well considered, its emotional register complex, and its humor sharp. Never so deeply identified with a fictional character.
