pickWith so much buzz around this book right now, I wasn‘t sure how I‘d feel about it, but man. In this case it‘s worth the hype. I loved it and I really appreciated that there wasn‘t some mind-bendy twist so many thrillers seem to implement. This was really solid from start to finish and really made me wonder how I‘d handle things if I were in this situation, especially considering my child is the same age as Hanna. Everyone needs to read it!

What I love about her books is the slow burn. This is not a fast paced novel, but more of an unraveling, which is perfect for these humid, never-ending summer days.

Posting this because, while this has never once occurred to me, I know EXACTLY what she means.

And I probably wouldn‘t have felt the freedom to write it until she was gone.” I have a complicated relationship with my mom too so this struck a loud chord for me. 💕

Almost a year since my last book club pick, phew. I‘ve been saving this one for what feels like forever, and hopefully everyone likes it! So far so good; it‘s definitely a page turner!
pickThis book was so good. I find that I love so much to read really big books about a character's life from beginning to end. Big, meandering stories where there are 800 characters but they're all pertinent to the story and they all circle back over the decades. Getting lost in their goings-on is just so damn pleasurable. This is one of those reads. Cyril Avery, I wish you were real. It was such a treat.
Babysitting for a friend this morning and was able to get some reading in during baby‘s nap. I‘m in love with this book & don‘t want it to end!
