Well written, made me think and feel some feelings. Also, there aren't a lot of books set in North Dakota, so it's kind of fun to see places you know referenced in a book.

This is the 2nd book I've read by this author this month and I really enjoyed them both. I get attached to the characters and want the stories to keep going! I will definitely pick up more of her books.

I could not put this down! The story advanced at a good pace and I figured I better keep up I guess :) If you like suspense, I recommend it - although I don't have kids and I could see it being kind of terrifying if you did!

There is so much info in this book - it's about mostly the LA Library, ahout the fire there and rebuilding, and it's history. It's also kind of a love letter to what libraries are, have been, and can be.
I enjoyed some chapters more than others. In the end I would have enjoyed it more if it was shorter. I could have done without a lot of the deep history on the LA Library especially.
This author has a way of sharing things that make a lot of sense to me, but that I never really thought of before.
She starts this paragraph by saying that in Senegal when someone dies, they say that their library burned down. I may need to start using that.

I have no judgement for how people spend their money or manage their books!
But - this is why I read 70+ books a year but don't really have any books in my home. Almost everything I read is an ebook borrowed from the library. I don't need the souvenir, I just want the experience!
I just love Elin Hilderbrand's books. I get attached to the characters, there is always some depth to the story but still easy to read. This book had all of that, plus a bit of history.
I guess Marvin has a case of the Mondays too 🥴
Sometimes when we do reading challenges... we read weird stuff 😂
This fit prompts in 2 challenges- a book about a cult and a choose your own adventure book.
I was REALLY dreading a cult book, but if I had to read 1, this was a good choice. I don't want to join & I don't understand when people fall in that trap. That said, I landed on Eckankar, which all in all doesn't sound too bad 😂

I didn't know until I looked for this image that this was made in to a Netflix movie- I will have to watch it now. I'm curious how they end it. This is a super fast read. I enjoyed his writing style, I think I'll read some of his earlier work. I read this for a reading challenge- I needed a book published posthumously. Sadly the author wrote this as he was dying of cancer I believe.

Might be between Pick & SoSo. I enjoyed it more than I expected to! #cinder #marissameyer #retelling #ya #cyborg
1. I barely have any books in my house. I read entirely on my phone! I love the convenience and it's so easy to borrow from the library. I rarely buy a book. Am I the only one?
2. I have volunteered for a dog rescue for almost 10 years... and now I have 4 dogs 🐶🐶🐶🐶

I was worried I would hate this - and I'm not great at walking away from a book. I tried to read one of the books written by the Wicked author, the Snow White one, and I hated it. I read Dorothy Must Die, the reinvention of The Wizard of Oz, and hated it too. But, I'm doing a reading challenge and need a 'retelling' of a famous story, so I decided on this. I'm pleasantly surprised - I like it so far!
Somehow I have never read this, and it fit in to a challenge I'm doing, so now was the time. I enjoyed it!
This is surprising - to me, anyway. You don't hear much about the Rastafarians!
I loved every semi-predictable moment of it! It's not perfect but I didn't care. I had to know how it would end and I didn't want to put it down. #justwhatineeded
I really think if I'd had more uninterrupted reading time for this one, I would have liked it so much more. It's complex and picking it up and putting it down so much made it tough for me. If you want to read it, I recommend picking a time when you can really dig in and knock it out in a couple of days.
Idk what it says about me that I am loving this twisted book, lol, but I am!
My current read. I thought I would really get in to this - but it's not totally grabbing me yet.
