I still cannot decide how I feel about this book. I enjoyed it, then I didn‘t, then I did.

I bought this because it‘s been banned and I‘d never read it. I was never into graphic novels, but this is a wonderful, difficult, heart wrenching book.

Smrloomis Completely agree! 3y
marleed I almost ordered from Amazon (out of stock). Then I decided I want to buy this new and locally just in case anyone is keeping track of those sales as a local perspective on this ban. 3y

I love this series and was lucky enough to win an advanced copy through goodreads. All four books in the Wayfarer series are wonderful. I love this one for the relationships that happen between the characters. Chambers consistently delivers a great sci-fi story with depth and they are all so heart warming.

Vox | Christina Dalcher

Pickpick

Vox is only 326 pages. I can read 326 pages in one sitting, which is what I planned on... one sitting. It‘s taken me four days! FOUR! I had to keep putting it down. I was so angry. Everything Jean described put me into emotional turmoil. I can easily imagine a world where women are silenced, where homosexuality is punished by prison. This book is terrifying and everyone should read it. “Think about what you need to do to stay free”.

Although I do not completely agree with Mr Hitchens, this book is worth reading. I only completed two books this weekend; Hitch 22 and god is not Great. I highly recommend both even if you are not of the same mindset. Expanding the mind is always a good thing. Hitch has given me much to ponder. I‘ve finished the challenge, now for sleep. #24in48

While I loved the idea of the book, Jennifer is entitled, whiny , and completely self absorbed. Neither Jennifer nor her husband really seem to learn anything, or even reflect on their financial situation. The recipes are the best part of the book.

I‘m only 300 pages in, but I‘m loving it.

Update: I‘ve finished and it was wonderful. Fitch does an excellent job portraying the Bolshevik Revolution.... However..... I am VERY upset that I did not know this is the first of two books! I need to know when I‘m entering into multiple books!

I had to read something that reminds me we once had leaders who were driven by integrity and character and the belief that all decisions should be for the good of all the people of the nation. Eleanor Roosevelt was an amazing woman. This is not the greatest writing but she is honest and straightforward. I highly recommend to anyone who needs a break from the current circus our government is putting on!!

Braiding Sweetgrass | Robin Wall Kimmerer
post image

Just beginning Braiding Sweetgrass. The first few pages are so lyrical; just sweeping me away. Consider listening to audio book. Robin Wall Kimmerer narrates and her voice is amazing. I cannot speak highly enough of this book! If you love nature and being in green places, or arid places, Kimmerer will give you a whole new perspective on the natural world. Prepare to have your minds expanded!

Beholderess I love the lyricism and poetry of it, although I think that Native culture is idealized a lot - understandable, considering the loss 8y
