"Forgetting is the precious balm that helps us to travel on, past the depredations of memory."
Quite possibly the most absurd and laugh-out-loud book I've ever read. Also, one of the best opening paragraphs of all time.
His best work yet! Auri is such an intriguing character. The writing here is entrancing. Absolutely beautiful.
"Any gap between us was a failure. Sucess would come when neither of us knew where one ended and the other began."
I finally unpacked my office! This is (part of) the best shelf. What's your favorite of King's? It's The Dark Tower series (and all the tie-ins) for me!
Fantastic, terrifying, important. It should be required reading for everyone, especially men. A friend of mine once said this book is the only book to ever make him feel empathy for a fictional character.
So many absurd, yet true observations. A scary, and sickening (but also hilarious) possible future. Loved this book!
