Mehso-so

This was ok, but more of a cozy mystery than I was expecting. I wanted it to be more spooky! Another review called it Scooby-Doo plus Hallmark and I think that‘s a good description. The narrator of the audiobook did not help. Very monotone.

This was my #BookSpin for October.

It's a toss up which book, this one or The Outsiders, is the first work of YA. This one was written when Daly was still in college and published in 1942. Although I found it slow moving, I also found it full of wistful nostalgia. Anyone who has ever fallen in love as a teen will likely recognize themselves in Angie. The themes are universal.

#BestBookofSummer

My only 5 🌟 read from June 1st to August 31st. What was your favorite book of summer?

@julieclair

julieclair This one sounds really good! Funny about the 5-star books. I had several in June, and then they kind of dried up in July and August. Sometimes I wonder if it‘s just my frame of mind as I read. 2mo
Deblovestoread @julieclair I definitely think when you read a book plays a large part in how you feel about a book. 2mo

Butler explores the possibility of going back home, picking up the pieces and building something new. I love his writing. His characters are people I want to get to know and as the story unfolds they become people I care about and root for. I loved this book. Pub date 2/4/25

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

JenReadsAlot So excited he has a new book coming out! 3mo

I‘m behind in the monthly cozy mystery club books as this was June‘s book. I hope to finish July‘s book this week so that then I will be on track.

Book 155 of the year.

Perfect summer read even though it takes place during fall and winter holidays. Lucy is a politician‘s assistant and has been in politics all her life. Alice was permanently “damaged” in a tragic accident in their teens and has been Lucy‘s responsibility since. After Alice‘s death, Lucy is forced to return to the home town she hates in order to receive any inheritance. But, the process gives her many insights.

A very fun mystery! This was a blind pick from a jar at the public library and I really enjoyed it. Don‘t rule out plausible exist-ability. Book#52 in 2024
