Cinfhen Don‘t know him, but I trust your opinion ❤️ 7y
arlenefinnigan @Cinfhen it's a supposed tour of 'the worst places in the world'. His final trip is to Northern Ireland. I'm sure @DeborahSmall may have something to say about that. ☘ 7y
DeborahSmall 😂 forgot about this show! 7y
Oblomov26 Will agree on this - funny at times but basically a dick 7y
arlenefinnigan @Oblomov26 my husband loves him. Forced myself to read Parliament Of Whores in the interest of marital compromise and considered leaving him. 7y

#MarchIntoOz #WeveGottaGetOutOfThisPlace ?Having once been in one where some significant damage was done to the building I was in, earthquakes freak me out. This novel takes place in San Francisco when two major earthquakes strike within the hour. Several of the characters, including the main characters, are trapped in the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium which has collapsed. "We've gotta get out of this place" is certainly what I'd be thinking.?

Cinfhen Oooh, this sounds good but so scary for you to have been through an earthquake 💜 7y
AmyG Whoa. I can‘t imagine living through an earthquake. His book sounds frightening. 7y
Jas16 I live a block away from the Masonic. Stacking this one although it will likely freak me out. (edited) 7y

#MarchintoOz when you‘re stuck on Mars your number one thought is #wevegottagetoutofthisplace 👽👽👽👽👽💩and I had the similar thoughts today as I spent the day at my FIL retirement village in Boca Raton. You‘ve seen the Seinfeld episode?!? Yes, exactly like that!!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V3Vm_ksWreM

This is what popped into my head for #wevegottagetoutofthisplace. @emilyhaldi just finished reading it and was shocked that I only gave it two stars. I admit I really disliked it, but I read it as an egalley and I think that was a large part of my issue. I also thought the focus was too broad. I wish Moore had chosen just one or two girls to tell the story through. I want to reread this though and see if I like it better. #marchintooz

sloanghost I think that's the most common complaint I've seen in reviews, that the focus was too broad. It's still on my list tho! 7y
CSeydel Oh that‘s interesting! I actually appreciated the way she handled the multiple cases. I kept thinking — you‘re going to think I‘m a horrible person — but I kept wondering, if there were hundreds of women doing this job, what happened to the others? Did they die of radium effects that just didn‘t get documented? Did they somehow survive? Were there other cases that she just didn‘t have room to tell? 7y
Mdargusch Good one! I need to read this! 7y

Cinfhen I‘m reading this now and while I find the story really interesting I feel like I‘m reading a middle school history book 🙄😬 there is something off putting for me 7y
Cinfhen I agree, it‘s too broad 7y
Reviewsbylola So glad I‘m not alone!! I keep seeing all these wonderful reviews and I‘m wondering what I missed. @Cinfhen 7y
Cinfhen Another book we seem to agree on 💕🙌🏻 7y
Megabooks We actually agree 😱😱😱😱 I kept getting lost with the audiobook. 7y
Reviewsbylola Ok now I know I‘m not crazy. Scratching that reread off my list. 😂😂 I cannot tell you how much better your validation makes me feel. I‘m super bummed though because this is a book I really wanted to love. @Booksandcooks @Cinfhen 7y
Megabooks Same here 🤷🏻‍♀️ I really wish I had enjoyed it. @Cinfhen 7y
Cinfhen I‘m almost done and i couldn‘t be happier @Booksandcooks and Steph 😜#unpopularopinion 7y
Reviewsbylola Anxiously awaiting your review. @Cinfhen Did you post a review? @Booksandcooks (edited) 7y
emilyhaldi @Booksandcooks I think this is one instance where physical book would be better than audio & easier to follow 7y
emilyhaldi @Cinfhen you‘re killin me!!! This book RULES!!! 7y
emilyhaldi @CSeydel I agree with you 💯!!!! I was fully invested in each person‘s story and couldn‘t have read another 400 pages. This might sound sick of me 😆 but I actually didn‘t want this book to end! I ❤️ when a nonfiction story has me so passionately involved. 7y
Megabooks @Reviewsbylola no I did not because I always thought I‘d get back to it. 😂😂 Definitely a bail! And I got it the day it came out. 7y
Megabooks @emilyhaldi That is definitely true! 7y
CSeydel @emilyhaldi @Booksandcooks oh yeah, I can‘t imagine trying to do this one by audio. I would‘ve found that really frustrating. 7y
Megabooks @CSeydel @emilyhaldi it‘s not exactly commute friendly 7y

#wevegottagetoutofthisplace #marchtooz A woman gets kidnapped by a creepy collector dude. It‘s similar in some ways to “Room”. Read the book, see the film, in that order. 🐛🦋🐞🐜🦗🕷

Drnkpnkprincess I loved this book! It was a required read in high school and I reread it every few years! I obviously enjoy creepy. 😂🦋🦋 (edited) 7y
RowReads1 @Drnkpnkprincess Lucky! It feels like we just continuously read “The Scarlet Letter” over and over for four years. 7y

5 year old Jack thinks his life in a small room is normal but in fact he and his Ma are being held captive and she is constantly thinking #wevegottagetoutofthisplace. This book is narrated by Jack and lends an interesting perspective to the story. I loved this one!

Anyone else amazed by the range of different fiction that Donoghue can write???

#marchintooz

bobregina It‘s on my TBR, I think I‘ll love it 😊! 7y
saresmoore Absolutely! And she‘s such a polarizing author because of it. 7y

emilyhaldi @BarbaraBB is definitely a slow burn, but I loved the way it was done. If you dont go in expecting a ton of action, you might love it!!! 7y
