pickGreat read! Thrilling plot, diverse characters, impressive worldbuilding. Overall, I give this book between 3.5-4 stars. It would have been a solid 4 if not for a scene in the ending, but no spoilers! I highly recommend this book to sci-fi lovers and anyone who is interested in the dark side of technology. Fans of Black Mirror, Sword Art Online, and Ready Player One may enjoy this.

so-soHaving rated Jennifer Government highly twice, I was looking forward to Machine Man. What started out as a 4-star read for me, ended up a 2. The first (almost-)half was darkly funny and clever. Then, it just plodded on, becoming more and more ridiculous with no real progress or development. It was a chore to finish.
