#Aprilbookshowers as I'm moved in with my MIL until she's ready for hospice, I've no current #shelfie, definitely a good thing as I'm running out of floor space. In pics above you can see my favourite painting and the wall behind Sophie. But presently neither can be seen from my ever growing Litsy inspired buys. Also missing my #tinyhuman. I'll see the kids every day and still do homework and make dinner etc but they didn't make it tonight....

DeborahSmall It's difficult but I wouldn't change a thing. If it was my own mother I'd be back in Glasgow to spend every minute I could with her. 💕 8y

DeborahSmall @saresmoore @Merethebookgal @sammisho @batsy @TrishB @LeahBergen thank you lady Littens xxx MIL is doing really well. ( of course it's because I'm a great nurse) seriously though we've had a lot of laughs this week and hopefully if infections stay away we'll have her st least another month. My brother in law is having a surprise 50th birthday dinner on Sunday so we're working hard on her exercises to make sure she gets out for the day ❤️ 8y

Outside in | Sarah Ellis

#riotgrams #outside. It is too cold to go outside today. This is Sophie my #tinyhuman, in better weather we usually go to the 'pirate' park it has a huge pirate ship, super cool! No matter where we go in my town the castle is always visible. I do a lot of reading outdoors when it's warm. So that means maybe 3 weeks in total over May and June! 📚❤️

LeahBergen She's so cute. 💗 8y
Alfoster Sweet❤❤❤! 8y

RadicalReader @DeborahSmall how nice of you to treat your daughter to outdoor activities and then you can also enjoy reading 8y

#Bookhaul My trip around the second hand shops today! 📚📚❤️ I've no furry friends to take pics with my books just #tinyhumans I doubled up on a couple of Agatha Christie's but they came as set of 4......also have 2 hardbacks of On Green Dolphin st by Sebastian Faulks now! But replaced my memoirs of a geisha, that I lent to someone and never got back 😊📚❤️

DeborahSmall @acorter my other #tinyhuman now 11. refused to pose lol but he's going to take part in tomorrows #readathon for at least 3 hours 😊📚❤️ 8y
acorter @DeborahSmall Excellent! Mine are 3 and almost 2. @KCorter took them along with a neighbor to the library today to pick out their books and audio books for the #readathon. 😀 8y
the_alternate_ending_library Agatha ❤️ I also picked up an Agatha last weekend. There was a stack of four that was being sold together but I passed and now I'm kicking myself! Have a great weekend. What a cutie in the pic!! 8y
Centique Your mention of 'books I lent to someone but I never got back' sent me into a sad spin about some lonely spaces on my bookshelf! 😂 aargh. Must not lend my favourite books! A trip to the second hand bookshop is overdue I reckon. 👍 8y
DeborahSmall @acorter mine are 18, 11 and 7, I'm reading my youngest Stardust, so we'll read together some tomorrow. Daniel is reading Hoot in school although for 9-11 yr I think it's too young for him. He read one of my thrillers through the summer. I was so happy he enjoyed it. He's going to start Panic by Jeff Abbot tomorrow 😊 8y
DeborahSmall @the_alternate_ending_library I almost passed but for Qa I didn't mind if I even got one I didn't have. I'm sending Sophie to her cousins tomorrow night so I can enjoy my reading in peace!! 8y
DeborahSmall @Centique when my sister comes to my house I don't let her into my library alone! I've bought so many books 2/3 times to fill empty spaces. I just recommend now rather than lend unless I've a double, sometimes I have paperback and hardback. Amazon Marketplace is great for second hand books I'm replacing 👍🏼 8y
acorter @DeborahSmall It's so great your kids share your passion for books. Tomorrow promises to be a great day! As far as my kids go... Nathaniel's first word was "book" and he has always love to read. Simon's first word was "poop" (haha) but he has also loved to read since he was old enough to pay attention. ? 8y
DeborahSmall @acorter If any of my kids are going to be avid readers like myself I think it will be Daniel. Sophie still enjoys being read to, which I love, she's also a very good reader but I have to be listening. Sam, my oldest is doing his A levels so studying constantly and doesn't read as much as he used to. Hopefully next summer before he heads to Uni he'll find his passion for reading again 👍🏼 8y
acorter Haha, Sophie sounds like Nate. He loves being read to. He likes to pretend to read to me, @KCorter, our dog, or his brother. He is 3 so every page starts, "One day..." followed by a description of the illustration. Simon prefers to yell-read chapter books to himself. :) 8y
acorter @DeborahSmall My wife has always been an avid reader but I hated it when I was a kid (which stressed out my mom to no end). Turns out 1). Getting glasses 2). Getting a B&N gift card for Christmas, and 3). Picking out a Stephen King turned me into a reader. I'm glad the kids love it. 8y
DeborahSmall @acorter the boys sound great, so sweet. Sophie just decided to join me in the #readathon she's reading James and the Giant Peach. My husband doesn't read fiction at all just biographies and sports books, I turned his office into my library 📚 it's more or less my room now with a desk in the corner 👍🏼. My sister reads quite a bit thank god❤️️📖 8y
acorter @DeborahSmall Your kids sound great too! :)

Excellent! Go Sophie!

Haha, I am the exact opposite. I have a hard time making myself read non-fiction. I need to get past that for some authors like David Vann or Hemingway because I ❤ them so much and I am out (or soon to be out) of fiction.

Excellent Job on the library! Libraries are better that offices anyway. :)
