Bookwormjillk This chapter was upsetting...but really people still do the same thing. It reminded me of a school board meeting in my city actually. 1y
AnnR Ronny is such a jerk. He only cares about his own reputation. 1y

Ruthiella @Bookwormjillk Yes. The behavior is very familiar, very human, just in a different time period and context. 1y
peanutnine Poor Fielding. He simply wants justice in an unjust world 😞 1y
jenniferw88 This chapter references the Indian Mutiny of 1857 (2nd paragraph) 1y
dabbe And I just don't know how to feel about Adela at this point. 1y
Bookwormjillk @dabbe Right??? We need to hear from Adela. 1y
Bklover I‘m glad I‘m not the only one! @bookwormjillk I felt really agitated after reading this chapter, and this very minute I don‘t like anyone but Fielding. I know it was a different time but I didn‘t like some of the language either. People can be real assholes. Oh, and @BarkingMadRead this is Chapter 20, correct? Just want to make sure I‘m reading the right stuff. 1y
BarkingMadRead @Bklover yea! Good catch, I‘ll edit that! 1y
Bklover @BarkingMadRead ❤️❤️❤️ I have no idea how you do all that you do and still have time to read at all! 1y
BarkingMadRead @Bklover I‘m retired 🤷🏻‍♀️ 1y
Bklover @BarkingMadRead I am too!! You are just seriously amazing. (I think I‘m also lazy). 1y
