I haven‘t read much dystopian literature lately, so it's been interesting to listen/read to these two dystopian novels in a week. I enjoyed Meg Elison's The Book of the Unnamed Midwife, which envisions humanity slaughtered by a virus that makes it impossible for women to deliver healthy babies. Ling Ma's Severance is both a compelling read and a thought-provoking satire of the routines that govern the "lives of quiet desperation" at its center.
