What if a crime on foreign shores revealed your BFF was not who she seemed? Travelers can relate to the wanderlust, and things get very intense, very quickly! Great thriller so far. #loveit #audiobook #tension

Pickpick

This book combines diary-like entries, reflections on different topics and experiences, devotional-type messages with Scripture, new song ideas and lyrics, and recipes passed down from family members to create a unique book that will appeal to many, especially the younger generation. The author‘s emotions are raw and real and her thoughts and responses are down-to-earth and relatable as well as admirable.

A+. This atmospheric, eerie short novel can be hard to find, but is worth the effort! An imaginative boy, a missing classmate, & a terrifying conclusion make for a great read! After I loved reading the book for a grad. school class, I got the Picador edition pairing this novel with his novella "The Mustache." #trulyeerie #tension #wellcrafted

I'm about a quarter of the way into Lightless. This book moves quickly, and it keeps ratcheting up the tension with each page. It's a story of a universe built on the belief of a system in complete control, but within this ship, that sense of control is evaporating. #CAHiggins #Lightless #SciFi #tension #suspense

BiblioNyan Sounds like it has a very interesting premise. 8y

What's most interesting about Lightless so far is just how much it doesn't tell the reader. Backstory on the characters introduced so far? Next to nothing. Higgins gives the reader more about the pair of antagonists she's introduced, making for an interesting level of tension where the reader trusts no one, including the POV. #Lightless #CAHiggins #scifi #suspense #tension #pov

Bird Box: A Novel | Josh Malerman

Pickpick

I've always had a fear of the unknown. Specifically, what cannot be seen. I hate the dark because I can't see what is in front of me. Standing in the ocean creates anxiety because I can't see my feet - what just brushed my leg? Was it a fish? Seaweed? Something sinister? Bird Box takes this fear and ramps is up to a 10+ by removing the character's vision in a post-apocalyptic, and extremely dangerous, world. I loved it.
