so-so

Tana French is a beautiful writer, no question. That said, this book's burn is soooooo sloooowww. Too slow at least for the payoff, in my opinion, which was pretty much in line with what I thought had happened the whole time. I enjoyed the bond that forms between Cal and the kid, but mostly this book made me wish it were another Dublin Murder Squad book instead.

Hear ye, hear ye, I *think* I've discovered a confirmed August #BOTM pick. Looks like The Comeback is poised to be the August 'Read With Jenna' pick (note the sticker!), and given she has a partnership with BOTM that should by extension mean it's also available as either a pick or an extra. I AM STOKED since this was on my original list of hopes/guesses 😆🤞🏽

j9brown @swishandflick They put it on my copy of the Girl With the Louding Voice, but then my friend got a copy without it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe they changed their mind? If I was annoyed enough to remember months later, I'm sure some people complained! 4y

swishandflick @vivastory Jenna Bush Hager, with the Today show. She does a book pick every month with an Instagram page, kinda like Reese but not quite as big yet. And the Read With Jenna picks are available through BOTM, they have a #readwithjenna tag. 4y
