I guess this is more of a response to #danger. But it's on my mind a lot during these dangerous times.

Please excuse me getting on my soapbox for a minute, but I saw that the #DynamicDs prompt for today is #DifferentlyAbled
Can we just not with the “differently abled” language? I‘m disabled. So is my sister, my cousin, and some of my friends. I‘ve been a part of disability groups politically/professionally. We either use “disabled” or “person w/ a disability.”
Tagged is good if you want to learn. Pic of sister‘s invisibly disabled cat for tax.
“Which is why we must actively antiracist” (last line that got cut off). Ibram X. Kendi posted this the other day & it definitely needs to be repeating. What they are pushing so hard against is why we need to push back harder.
I attended an author event, this past week, with Rebecca Thorne for the third book in her Tomes and Tea series, and a book was part of the ticket price. So technically that.
But before that, after *makes sweeping gesture at November* I bought the tagged book, along with Prequel by Rachel Maddow and Democracy Awakening by Heather Cox Richardson.
#SundayFunday Have a wonderful day, and don‘t forget to tag me in your posts!
A phenomenal non-fiction book and movie recommendation for #blackhistorymonth.
My masters is in forensic psychology so this story is powerful to me. Heartbreaking, motivating, educational and important too. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for each.
And Michael B. Jordan is my #1 celebrity crush... let's be honest here. He's beautiful to look at. Watch it. Read it.
It‘s said that MLK Jr. was inspired by Thurman‘s work & often carried a copy of this book with him. Published in 1949, Thurman‘s insightful wisdom is (unfortunately) still fresh & relevant today. Thurman discusses how hatred destroys both the oppressor & the disinherited—and offers Jesus and the truth of the Gospel as an example to follow, in love and in resistance. It was the second time I‘ve read this, and I got even more out of it this time.
The subtitle of We Still Here covers the main topics within: pandemic, policing, protest, and possibility. This book was published in 2020 and is organized in interviews format. The chapters Justice for “All” and Whose Violence? were especially powerful.
