Adventure of three young people, each facing their own challenges (alcoholism, depression, trauma and denial, daddy issues, growing up). Some friendship, some gay romance, shitty backstories, pretty fast pace. This reads like YA... oh wait—this is YA! I wasn‘t aware. (Adjusting mindset...) A vivid world and interesting characters—even if the MacGuffin quest is but a background for their inner struggles—so I‘m counting this one as a win.

4/5

I hit 365 days of reading! I‘ve read a lot of books books, too, but I could not function as a human being without fanfic. ❤️ Anyone want to be my friend on Beanstack? You can track minutes, pages, and/or books read. My friend code is 7YS5GHA. ❤️

Guys, it's Slash. Obviously, it was AWESOME. 🤟

I love this man. He's the reason I picked up a guitar for the first time. He defined my taste in music.

This was such a candid autobiography. Slash goes into detail about his addictions (alcohol, cocaine, heroin and women) it was refreshing to read about someone who admits full responsibility for their actions and doesn't look for someone else to blame for their problems.

A true Rock Star. 🫶❤️

Took this little diamond for a jog/run today. He's my soul mate. We needed a break from all the sex, drugs and Rock n Roll of "Slash". The soundtrack was naturally Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver though ??

Fun book I forgot to report on. Very good reflection on how sex in space has been imagined in science and science fiction in the US. It's a bit dated at this point — mores have changed since the 1990s — but still thought provoquing.

vlwelser I really like that cover. 3y
tournevis @vlwelser Me too. It says it's a photo by Weegee (Arthur Fellig), 1994, International Center of Photography, New York 3y

I enjoyed my 30 LGBTQ+ author project from June so much that I'm going to make it a weekly event! Every week, I'll share an #lgbtqvoices post about a new author. This week I picked a favorite of mine, Canadian writer Tanya Huff. Tanya is known as a prolific fantasy/sci-fi writer, and for having accidentally aquired a Chihuahua. #lgbtq #lgbtqauthors #fantasy #scifi

June 6: Today's book is another fantasy title because that genre makes up the majority of my reads. It follows a trio of characters from very different walks of life as they work to retrieve a stolen magic artifact. This book features a male relationship. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtqbook #pridemonth2020 #fantasy #lgbtqfantasy

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It took several directions I didn't expect, and the characters were fun to get to know. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtauthor #lgbtfantasy #magic #thief #prince #lgbtliterature #lgbtcharacter #queerbook #queerfantasy
