For years I‘ve made James Peterson‘s recipe for curried carrot soup, but this one has usurped it.

Soup is bubbling on the stove, the onion marmalade ready, dutch oven bread cooling, hubby out tracking down roast beef & cheese.
This book has lots of inspiration for sandwiches and sides. It is mouthwatering.

pickI read this to a tough group of 3rd graders. Kids have a hard time understanding who narrates this book. They will argue. This will lead to a wonderful opportunity to support their argument with text evidence. And then map story elements. Because I'm a teacher. Seriously, a good book.
