Satisfyingly working my way through the Rosato and Associates series with book number 9. Mary DiNunzio is hired pro bono to represent the estate of Amadeo Brandolini, an Italian immigrant. Amadeo‘s son wants to sue for reparations. At the beginning of World War II, Amadeo was placed in an Italian-American internment camp. This murder mystery story also reads like a historical fiction novel.

A LEGAL THRILLER
I haven‘t read this book, but I always enjoy her books.
Have YOU read it?
Scottoline cleverly builds a story with many layers of interest and suspense. We‘ve got the associates in a law firm and their roles working cases. The boss is worried about keeping her firm in business and her twin sister causing problems at every turn. Then, we‘ve got a murder victim and their family to learn about. Pigeon Tony‘s Last Stand isn‘t in the Litsy database, but, since the characters appear in The Vendetta Defense, I tagged it. This is longer than most short stories but shorter than a novella. A group of 80 something year-old men are concerned when their 5th grade neighbor boy is approached by drug dealers wanting him to be a messenger. They decide to do something about it. The ending was a bit rushed. #Audiowalk book was still Finlay Donovan.
Judy‘s Aunt Jane is going in for as mastectomy just as Judy gets embroiled in a murder and drug ring mystery. Oh and did I mention, she‘s breaking up with her live-in boyfriend? Humorous points, action and surprises all in one package.
I became a fan of Lisa Scottoline when I attended her author event a few years ago. And by fan, I mean of her books and amazingly hilarious personality. Courting Trouble is #7 in the series, Rosato and Associates. It‘s nice you don‘t have to read these books in order. It suits my personality to read the books in order though. Probably something to do with being Type A personality.
