This is exactly the kind of near-future SF I like. Sawyer‘s characters spend a lot of time doing science and discussing ethics, but the story never becomes idea-centric. It‘s always about the people involved and the massive personal choices they face as they deal with de-aging technologies and interplanetary communication. I cried at the end.
It‘s also unapologetically Canadian. I got an especial kick out of all the CBC-related content.
