I will never look at my nephew‘s birthday the same again. On the upside, Barley Day counts as a non-Christmas holiday for #popsugarchallenge purposes, right?

Christmas #bookhaul Excited for these which I plan to use for #pop22 #popsugarchallenge and #booked2022
So I bought a bujo to keep track of my reading challenges in 2022. I‘m now at the point that I‘m making up challenges just so I can create a page for them 🤣
I have 6 challenges set up for 2022 and am now debating the #popsugarchallenge

I needed to read a Women‘s Prize winner for a #PopSugarChallenge prompt and I‘ve already read several. So I picked this, which has a lot of miserable people doing bad things. I listened to the audiobook, which made it extra annoying how often people seemed to be whining and begging for someone not to do something. There are some memorable characters and well written lines and the opening is unusual but I don‘t quite see why it won.

I‘m glad I was too lazy to get up and turn this audiobook off.I was not impressed and don‘t like the main character. She's snotty, and doesn‘t give others chance. This book felt like it started in the middle and left a little to be desired. However, it seems to never end. When you think you have come to the perfect end, it goes on more. I did enjoy the book, but it is not one I would read/listen to over and over again.

This was a thoroughly entertaining read out of the Storm Kids publishing house. It was a new take on the classic Hansel and Gretel tale, that makes them the kids in the Grimm family of fairytale legends. This book was both heartfelt and funny. It provided light scares and tons of adventures. I hope this series lives on for a while as I can not wait to read the next installment.

What in the world did I just read? Maybe I would think that always, or maybe I think that because I am currently working from home because of the pandemic. Who knows. This is a world where a pandemic has whipped out most of the population, and new kids being born, are born with animal features. I had to immediately put the next book on hold at the library. It‘s that good.

This was such a fun surprise. I figured it would be a fun breezy book based on the cover, but I never expected it to take place in the 70s or be as deep as it was. Sunny has been pushed off to her grandpa‘s Florida retirement village for the summer. It shows that life has its difficulties, they are not your fault, and that you can get through them. It was a wonderful book and I am glad there is a sequel.
