I am reading waaay too many books all at one time right now! Usually I am a one book at a time person and Litsy has totally changed my habit in the 11 months that I have been a Litten. Right now, I have 3 print books and 2 audiobooks going. And of course, they ALL have to be similar genres, just to keep me on my toes trying to keep the plots straight! 😂 #polygamousreader #monogamousreader

How many books do you usually read at one time?

Read-y_Picker Same! I now have at least a print, an audiobook and an EBook going at all times, sometimes more. #IblameLitsy 4y
Cuilin I blame Litsy for my more than one book at time habit. There‘s so many fun buddy reads!! I think I have 4-5 books going right now. 😳 4y
Ruthiella I usually have two to three going at once but they have to all be fairly different one from another...otherwise I would probably also mix them up too much in my head. 4y

kspenmoll I always have more than one going to match my varying moods/interests. And always an audiobook. Litsy got me into audiobooks- I had never listened to a book before that unless in person!!! 4y
Scochrane26 I‘m usually a one physical/one audiobook person. I haven‘t been listening lately though. 4y
EmberIvyRose One audio and one physical. I can't handle more than that! 4y
DarkMina Usually one audio and one physical. I do have two physical going right now due to a buddy read. 4y
Kappadeemom I usually read 2 or three. One print, one Kindle and one other genre that is unlike the others (like a non-fiction) 4y
NikkiM5 I was the same 😂 only one book at a time until I joined Litsy 4y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Typically I am also a one book at a time person. Recently I‘m up to two at a time. I started following along with a YouTuber‘s science book club, so I‘ve been reading those books alongside my other personal choice. I think I could probably do three at once, but I won‘t. 😅 And I‘d absolutely lose my mind with 4+. 4y
Sharpeipup 7 at a time but I do try to have different genres. 4y
Pageturner1 maybe two at a time. not a fast reader. i either have audiobook in car and hard copy of a different book at home or e-book. 4y
CogsOfEncouragement I like to have a fiction and a non-fiction at any given time. I used to always have a book I was reading with my kids too, but as they are older that is not very often anymore. 4y
Deblovestoread At least 3, kindle, print and audio. Currently 5 which include 2 chapter a day buddy reads. They all have to be different genres, time periods etc or I couldn‘t keep them straight in my head. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick At this exact moment, 3 books. One in my office, once at home, and an audiobook. I'll probably start a new ebook later today or tomorrow so I can pause the buddy read book in my office. 4y
katy4peas @Cuilin That‘s true! A lot of it is Buddy Reads. Without them, I would be back down to one print and one audio which is more my normal. 🤔 but they are so fun! 4y
katy4peas @Ruthiella I‘m starting to get to that problem where some of them are a bit too similar and the characters could easily fit into multiple books! I need to spread out my genres if I am going to have multiple books going. 4y
katy4peas @kspenmoll I‘ve definitely started to become a mood reader since the pandemic hit. I have become very picky about my books and have been very decisive about not finishing them if I am not enjoying them. My habits have changed a lot! 4y
katy4peas @Scochrane26 I‘m listening to a buddy read and then I started another audio because I was caught up with my section. I have become a huge listener lately because I can knit while I listen and multitask! I also love the narrators‘ accents and how they can appropriately read characters dialects and pronounce names better then I can, so certain books I like as audio for sure. 4y
katy4peas @EatSleepRead that‘s usually where I‘m at. And I usually try to keep the genres somewhat different or at least different time periods! 4y
katy4peas @DarkMina me too, three of mine are actually buddy reads and two are my own. 🤔 4y
Scochrane26 @katy4peas I like audiobooks, but with working from home, I have found it takes me forever to finish one. I listen to podcasts lately but will get back into audio soon. 4y
katy4peas @Kappadeemom I think I need to add the nonfiction into my mix as well. I‘m getting a little bit mystery and thriller heavy right now except for Jane Austen! 🤷‍♀️ 4y
katy4peas @NikkiM5 oh, Litsy! 💕 4y
katy4peas @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm three are buddy reads but the genres are still very similar so I am going to have to figure something out so I can keep track of them all a little better. They are all starting to blend. Jane Austen meets vampire meets ghost meets detective 😂🤷‍♀️ 4y
katy4peas @Sharpeipup wow! Different genres definitely helps! I need to figure out how to rearrange my reading a little so mine are more spread out since they are similar genres. 4y
katy4peas @Pageturner1 I‘m not a fast reader either and because I am suddenly a mood reader I have been book hopping a little bit but I also have buddy reads going on and that adds more to my current pile. So now I am up to 5 books and they are all similar genres because that is what I like to read. 🤷‍♀️😂 4y
Cuilin @katy4peas I know and I‘ve made so many great Litsy friends doing them 💖 4y
katy4peas @CogsOfEncouragement I used to have a book and a comic so I could choose which to read. The comics were short and I could read 2-3 pages and then go to bed. Now I just have my full books which is fine, but they take me longer to read. I probably need that non-fiction read to help balance and give me that sometimes quicker read before bed. It might be easier for me to read a short ch or para and it would be a different genre. Hooray! 4y
katy4peas @Kdgordon88 yeah, I‘m finding that out too. It comes back to me when I open the book, but sometimes the characters fit into the other books to easily. 😅 4y
katy4peas @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick that‘s a great idea to keep one at work. I‘m a slow reader and don‘t know if I could keep up with my buddy read, but I will have to think about that. 2-3 is usually my max. I also have a hard time with multiple books because I usually am so caught up in one story that I want to focus and sink into just that one. So multiple books takes me out of that world. Buddy reads has helped me balance that though. 4y
katy4peas @Read-y_Picker I got a Kindle for Christmas and have been stocking up on ebooks for it. Soon it will probably be in the rotation as well! 🤦‍♀️ there are so many books I want to read! And I am a sllooww reader! 4y
katy4peas @Scochrane26 oh, podcasts are another rabbit hole! 😁 4y
Powered_By_Plants 😂😂 goodness me too!! Currently on a few buddy reads which is great just a chapter a day and then a book with my daughter , always have an audiobook on the go too, so 5 altogether. Definitely making the most of it while we are locked down as I wouldn‘t be able to do so many usually. Love that you get your knit on with an audiobook 🧶 😁 (edited) 4y
kspenmoll @katy4peas Me too! This month I am struggling with my reading, even buddy reads. 4y
