Wow. Fantastic way to advertise the dangers of pollution, industrialization, and business that harms the environment to a young audience. And that‘s an abrupt ending that leaves a great impact rather than an unfinished one.

lil1inblue @TheBookHippie 😍 I need to read more of her work. I adore the writing in this one. Any other recommendations? 2w

The 9 year old loved this one. I think this one might be my favorite of the series. The message of hope & protecting the environment resonates strong here. I really wish there was a Roz that could be out there to stop the destruction to our environment.

TheBookHippie Me too!!!! I so love this series. 4w

For being dated, this book is still absolutely on point. All the arguments are as valid as ever. Definitely worth reading if you haven‘t. It was hard going, reading about so many dead animals and sick people, but we need to keep books like this in regular rotation.

TheBookHippie I‘ve read this three times. I do enjoy her other works as well. 1mo

This is a book for kids to understand recycling. Still, I think we should be using other bottles of different products instead of plastic. #ISpyBingoFeb @TheAromaofBooks

It's been a minute since I read the first two Wild Robot books. I honestly don't remember them going this hard. The story conveys much in a way accessible to younger readers, it features the return of many beloved characters, but it also confronts: environmental pollution, undersea mining, the damage done in harvesting the minerals today (and likely the future)'s tech demands, 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/? the extent to which individuals can make a difference, the limits of negotiating with for profit concerns, the possibility of more radical dismantling of harmful industrial equipment, the importance of the ocean ecosystem kept in balance. Yes, it's about a level of robot intelligence we've yet to see, and a bunch of anthropomorphic animals, but it also features humans who want to do better. 4mo
Robotswithpersonality 3/? If this is the message that's going out to the youngest generation from a writer representing an older generation, then I am filled with a new wave of that all important HOPE. ♥️ 4mo
Robotswithpersonality 4/4 There are, as the author states in the end note, other themes at play: home, parenthood, but they work best to underline the environmental concerns: all homes, all futures are threatened if action is not taken to clean up and protect the oceans, among other environments.
