Apparitions is a classic mid-1970s study of over 1800 cases taken from two separate appeals plus many others culled from the files of the Society for Psychical Research. It is a terrific, testimony-driven study that is worth the price of admission for the experiences alone. Seeing Ghosts is also testimony-driven; but weakened slightly by the inclusion of too many third-person narratives. Taken together, this is a splendid pair of ghostly studies.

Skygoddess1 I love Phantoms, it‘s probably my favorite book by Dean Koontz, try to reread every couple of years. Whatever you do, don‘t watch the movie, so does not live up to the book. Wish Nickelodeon or a streaming network would reboot Are You Afraid of the Dark 7y

Billypar Haven't read the Koontz, but I also loved the show as a kid. Combine that with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and John Bellairs novels, and that's a great map of my favorite scares growing up 😨😁 7y

KathyWheeler @Whimsical.Curiosity Twilight Eyes was set in a circus and was well told. From the Corner of His Eye has a hero who had the same eye cancer my daughter had as a baby and it has the best Koontz villain. 7y

KathyWheeler @Whimsical.Curiosity My daughter is great now. She lost vision in her left eye, all but her peripheral vision, but she‘s good otherwise. I still feel that my friends who read the book before I did should have told me about that character‘s cancer though, instead of letting me encounter it with no preparation. It was still relatively new for me and my daughter back when the book came out. 7y
