Here's my first #Litsolace post! Pancakes are traditional for Candlemas/Imbolc where I live, so dinner was a spicy tomato and carrot soup, followed by 2 pancakes with strawberry preserve 😁

A friend shared this with me and now we‘ve challenged each other to read as many books as possible that feature a pig.
So far, I have mostly picture books (see tagged) plus Charlotte‘s Web, Babe, Animal Farm, and Lord of the Flies (because I‘m funny like that).
Littens, can you think of any others??
Just as vibrant and joyful in the everyday as I'd expect.
So glad for the size of my library's Carle collection!
I will never get tired of Eric Carle's art style.
Our new mailbag episode just posted. We answer your questions, review some books and talk about evolutionary biology (sort of). I also reveal the name of this cat you see here. Hope you enjoy it!

This story has become a new favorite for me. The drawings create for a fun experience, and not having words allows the reader to perceive what is happening in their own way.
This picture book is a tale of a little old lady trying to make pancakes. She doesn‘t have the ingredients she needs, and her animals keep getting in the way. There are no words in this book, but the pictures carry is through the story as each emotion and detail is shown beautifully on the old lady‘s face. The colors chosen create the whimsical feeling of the story.
