I‘ve just started my first Miss Read novel and finding it a perfect companion for this rainy day.
rockpools Gorgeous picture, as always! Miss Read reminds me of the library van, for some reason- must have been a series my gran used to borrow. 5y
catebutler I love the little stories and occurrences in a small English village. It‘s just a lovely, cozy, comfort read. I‘m working my way through this one too! 5y
LeahBergen @RachelO What a nice memory! I bet your Gran did read them; they were super popular in the 1950s and 60s. I remember spotting the odd old Penguin paperback from this author in my teen secondhand book-shopping days. 😄 5y

LeahBergen @catebutler That‘s a perfect way to describe this book! I‘m sure I‘m going to love the rest of the books in the #MissReadAlong, too. 😊 5y
elkeOriginal You need to use the #onleahsshelf tag. I want this to become a top Litsy hashtag 😘 5y
LeahBergen @elkeo_TheBookDragon 😆😆 I probably should, at least for some of the weirder/older ones. Except I‘d feel a bit sorry for the person who unwittingly clicks on that hashtag and thinks, “What IS this pile of crap?” 😆😆 5y
jillrhudy Prozac in book form. What a lovely edition too. 5y
rubyslippersreads I can‘t believe I‘ve never read any Miss Read (even though a friend has been “pushing” them for ages. 😄) 5y
