Two innovative novellas… one written in headlines alone, one written as a series of lists, both about women who have recently been left broken-hearted and are coping with 21st century breakups. I found both really compelling…. My only reservation is that both formats somehow kept me at a distance, and felt a little cold. Really creative and unique though…. #weathertermintitle #booked2022 @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @alisiakae

Cinfhen This sounds fun!! Hooray for another #Booked2022 prompt 😄 2y

This was a beautiful, quiet, autumn book that demanded reading slowly by scented candlelight. The prose was amazing, it made me feel like the Icelandic wind was really on my face. The characters were all deep but gentle to read about. A lovely ensemble cast book for the season.

I added a bunch of supermarket flowers to my "office" this week. Along with a lovely card from @jenniferw88 (and tea!) making it all a bit more pleasant...! And I have another translated fiction bookclub tonight, a definite lockdown benefit!

A young woman realizes she has spent eight years towards a dissertation founded on a mistake. What follows is a surrealist account of her unraveling life. This brief novel won‘t be for everyone, but I loved it.
