This is definitely my favourite ever Stephen King book. So horrifying, but not more gratuitous than it needed to be, with such real characters and such ‘I thought I was over these childhood fears‘ shocks. I couldn‘t do anything else while I listened to this I just vanished inside it.

This was a beautiful, quiet, autumn book that demanded reading slowly by scented candlelight. The prose was amazing, it made me feel like the Icelandic wind was really on my face. The characters were all deep but gentle to read about. A lovely ensemble cast book for the season.
