I cannot cook photogenic food! I'd get thrown off Masterchef in Week 1 on grounds of presentation (OK, there might be other reasons...)
Anyhow, in an attempt to do better, I've been digging out the #neglectedcookbooks again & made a Cream of Leek Soup (very 80s, but hey). It looks... like leek soup. I can't make it pretty, so here's a pic of chopped veg. But It tastes alright - would definitely make again! #monthlycookbookchallenge @tpixie

#neglectedcookbooks made delicious Chicken Salad Véronique #CookingTip use your KitchenAid stand mixer to shred the chicken!
I own Anne Byrn Saves the Day Cookbook, but realized she got the Indian Silken Chiken recipe from Madhur Jaffrey. I used MJ's extra spices for the sauce & no brown sugar. I also forgot to take a picture of the food so I'll use the picture in the book. We ate it with asparagus. I would make a second batch of the sauce on the stove top to cover the rice and chicken. Otherwise it was delicious #neglectedcookbooks #monthlycookbookchallenge
@RachelO @GlitteryOtters I made the 'Perfect Roast Chicken' from Barefoot Contessa's 1st recipe book. It was delicious. I added carrots& fennel ( my mom wrote in the cookbook) I had no idea but fennel tastes amazing roasted! #monthlycookbookchallenge #neglectedcookbooks
