I can‘t reveal too much (it is a secret after all). Recommend reading after Mistborn Era 1 for the full affect. 4/5

Bailedbailed

I really tried. I was going to give this series another shot, because the first one was good, and I thought I could pick it right back up. But it‘s not happening. So my first bail of 2024. #notforme 😩😢☠️👎🏻📚⛰️

"I am, unfortunately, the Hero of Ages"
This trilogy was amazing!! The magic system is unique. All of the characters' developments were so well done.
There are so many cool races of people, too!
The first half does drag a little with all of the political talk, but the second half is non-stop action. The ending was so perfect and heartbreaking.
I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

This was a great sequel to the Final Empire.
It picks right up where the first left off.
The mists are starting to come during the day and attack people, and Elend is now king and is facing multiple armies trying to take his throne.
Vin is struggling with determining who she really is, as well as seeing a figure made of mist.
The book ends with another twist and another threat.
I am enjoying this series and look forward to the third book.

#Betterlatethannever Finally posting my July #Storygraph wrap up. I had a good reading month, but a lot of the books I read were in that kind of meh > it was okay range.

My husband is finally catching up to where I am in our Mistborn buddy read, so I‘m looking forward to continuing with the 3rd in the trilogy (but maybe not for another month or so).

I‘ve had a strong first half of the year in reading. If I‘m able to keep up this pace, I should be back on track to finish 100 books again this year, after a dip in my reading in 2023.

My favorite reads in 2024 so far have been:

Mistborn
Ruthless Vows
Bright Young Women
The Shepherd King Duology
A Letter to the Luminous Deep
Emily Wilde‘s Map of the Otherlands

This was a huge improvement from Sanderson‘s 1st book Elantris. It starts out as a pretty typical fantasy heist story, but through the intricate plotting, extensive world building, and complex but endearing characters, the book becomes an excellent first entry into a fascinating new fantasy series. The very unique magic system is physics based, which adds a lot of dynamism to the fight scenes. There were also some genuinely surprising twists!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was an excellent culmination of this series. And the ending of this book. Wow. I think I‘ll be thinking about it for a long time.
I enjoyed the whole journey - I read and listened to it, and Michael Kramer is an excellent narrator.
My husband finished it not long before I did, so the “oh and then Sanderson did this!” conversations have been plentiful.
I‘ll definitely be traveling more into his Cosmere!

Finally got around to reading a Brandon Sanderson book and I liked it. Good Fantasy, good characters and I didn‘t have to rack my brain to understand the setting. Metals as the power, loved this theory. Vin and Saze are the best. Eland you read too much!:). First in this trilogy.
