I think I may be the only one still chugging along in the #luminariesbuddyread (probably bc I took a good 2 weeks off reading it, at least), but I'm still loving it. My parents recently bought this gorgeous chair on sale at scan design (it's easily the classiest thing in the house now 😂) and it turns out it is a PERFECT reading chair, especially in the evenings after they've gone to bed. I'm going to really miss it when I leave...😭

I finally finished the #luminariesbuddyread! While I can appreciate the writing and the intricate plot, this was a bit of a slog for me. This could have been done in about half of the 834 pages that it took.

All the bubble popping tired her out. 🤣 But guys, more importantly, I FINISHED The Luminaries! 🎉🎉🎉 I haven‘t felt so proud since I finished Anna Karenina. 😂😂 I ended up giving this 3.5/5 stars. I enjoyed most of it, even loved part of it, but there was a large chunk in the middle that really wore me down. I wasn‘t sure if I could finish. So I‘m thankful for the cheerleading of my fellow buddy readers. #luminariesbuddyread

I decided to go for it. About 50-60 pages left of this behemoth! Meanwhile, little miss Gertrude likes sticking her snout in my bubble bath and then tossing the bubbles into the air so she can leap at them. 🤣🤣 #luminariesbuddyread #bathandbook

And FINIS! I couldn‘t stop and spent this morning finishing the final section. I adored it. I definitely have some unanswered questions but also feel deeply satisfied. Catton‘s meticulous plotting is genius. What a worthwhile endeavor and so fun to do it together! #luminariesbuddyread

Since I‘m leaving for London in exactly one week, I have two bookish goals to get to first. I need to finish #luminariesbuddyread. I have about 250 pages left and I‘m enjoying it way more than I was a week or two ago. So the question is do I read right to the end or take a quick break between weeks 5 and 6? My other goal is to re read Northanger Abbey. That‘s the book us girls decided to read in preparation for our trip! #bathandbook

Finished! What an interesting cast of characters and use of astrology! I loved how the story unfolded in this NZ gold rush town! Thank you #luminariesbuddyread and the reading schedule that @Ashley_Nicoletto made was just right and kept me on track. #yearofthechunkster

Are there any other #luminariesbuddyread readers out there that are still working on this one? I think I fell way behind — at least Domino seems pretty disappointed that I‘m only on page 562. Gonna work on this some more this morning while everyone is out and the house is quiet.
