When a British family wins Q9 million, their lives change forever… proving that the TLC show THE LOTTERY RUINED MY LIFE isn‘t solely an American phenomenon. For 15 years, Lexi & Jake played the same numbers along with their two best couple friends. A fight breaks out between them… one week before Lexi buys the winning ticket. The ugly side of greed is on full display here, though the predictable plot gets bogged down with descriptions of wealth.

#audiostitching (plus bird-, squirrel-, chipmunk- & deer- watching) while listening to this family navigate grief, parenting issues, romantic relationships, work/ life balance, & more. All while dealing with 3 of the 4 siblings winning the powerball.

bookandbedandtea can see how this family- & all their dramas- could have completely annoyed me on a different day but today I was willing to root for them. It was refreshing to read about a family whose members like each other. (Lottery drama aside 😉) 4w

Fictional author Nora Reilly is a special guest at a small New Hampshire town‘s festival that‘s gone nutty when a group of grocery store workers win the lottery the day before. When one goes missing and turns up injured and his girlfriend kidnapped, Nora‘s daughter/private investigator Regan and family friend Alvirah are on the case. Once again, many “chance” events culminate in a tidy resolution. I love it because I like to see how it all ⬇️

Texreader comes together to solve the crime. These Christmas stories are really well done (even if kidnapping is the crime de jour)! I read this book for #wintergames and now finally writing the review. 1mo

This one was pretty good. Part of series that seems to mainly be holiday stories. #wintergames @StayCurious

My second book by Wagamese and it certainly won‘t be my last. I loved this story about four people experiencing homelessness who win the lottery. We get to see their care for each other and how they touch the lives of those they encounter who at first see them as their circumstances and not as people. Their story is not really about sudden wealth, although that is part of it. It is about connection, compassion and the magic of sharing our stories.

Suet624 Apparently I already stacked this one. I‘ve yet to read a book by this author and I really want to! 5mo
Jas16 @Suet624 I really think you would enjoy his work. 5mo

You can count on Friedland for a great beach read!

Four adult siblings head to the Jersey Shore to pack up the family beach house ahead of their widower dad‘s move to Florida. Three of the siblings go in on a Powerball lottery ticket and win the jackpot, but it ends up creating more strife than joy. Be ready to suspend your disbelief to enjoy this lighthearted romp!

Slow pick since I liked this dad and his four grown siblings with their partners. However, it was a lot to get to know them before, during, and in the aftermath of a power ball lottery win. It became a superficial look addressing the conflicts in place and then how those issues played out after becoming buoyed by millions. I think this story would have benefitted by editing out a sibling thereby giving the pages to fewer conflicts.
