This story has many great social emotional themes throughout that I would love to use in a classroom. I would use this book to teach children about self-discovery, friendship, perspective, and the idea of how you have the power to shape your own narrative.
This cute read aloud story is written in the style of a poem. It has great rhymes and opportunities for children to make funny sound effects. This story also has a great message of how your actions or attitude can effect your interactions with others.
Featured this week, an RL Stine picture book. Some kids tensed up that the book would be scary. I comforted them saying how when I was a kid Scooby Doo stressed me out. This book will make kids squeal with disgust and it's a tongue twister at times.
🎧 I was shocked to hear that Paul Stanley has such a remarkable birth defect. Really interesting book & man. Seems grounded. The feelings he voiced & the way he lived after his divorce felt raw & genuine. The fact that he could have gone out and boinked his way across the globe but chose not to gives him superstar status. He also does a good job narrating.

4.5 ⭐ This book is all about not liking to get kisses. There are other ways to show love and effecting, and Rissy, just wants other‘s to know that. This story is very well done, and the illustrations nicely match. I love the info bits in the end matter that emphasizes not to make a child hug and kiss because just like adults they have body anonymity too.

3 ⭐This book is cute, but at the same time I have problems with it. Andy is always hiding from his aunt who always wants a hug and a kiss. Until one day Andy‘s aunt doesn‘t come over. He realized at the end that he actually loves the Kiss Kiss hug hug. The problems are that now we are teaching kids to be more aware of personal space. ⬇
I was today years old when I found out that there is more books to go along with The Kissing Hand! After Scoring this beauty for 25 cents at a thrift store today, I researched and found more books with the adorable Chester Raccoon!
