“I am a pout-pout fish, with a pout-pout face, so I spread the dreary-wearies all over the place.“
“I am a pout-pout fish, with a pout-pout face, so I spread the dreary-wearies all over the place.“
This story has many great social emotional themes throughout that I would love to use in a classroom. I would use this book to teach children about self-discovery, friendship, perspective, and the idea of how you have the power to shape your own narrative.
This cute read aloud story is written in the style of a poem. It has great rhymes and opportunities for children to make funny sound effects. This story also has a great message of how your actions or attitude can effect your interactions with others.
I mean ... is this all of us in 2020 or what? 😂
“She approaches Mr. Fish, but instead of saying hey...she plants a kiss upon his pout and then she swims away.“
This was a picture book. It had a repetitive structure that made the same replies and questions happen until suddenly a turn was taken and as a result, the pout pout fish became happy again. Its illustrations kept me entertained and the watercolors added to the effect of under the sea. It also showed different moods that each fish had in an effective way to get a better sense of characterization.
Cute story with a good plot showed how one regular sad fish became happy in the end.
My granddaughter listens intently as my daughter (her aunt) reads The Pout Pout Fish 🐠 🐟
The Pout Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen and Illustrated by Dan Hanna is an adorable MF PB that tells the tale of a fish who thinks he‘s destined to be glum. I think if you are sorry enough this book is great for an interactive Story Telling. It‘s also wonderful to teaching about the growth mindset. Strategies that I would include in the lesson would be: ESL 23 and UDL 9.1 a good resource for this text is linked below. #UCFLAE3414SU19 #nosegoodbooks
I love reading new books to this little man!
The pout pout fish is a great modern fantasy picture book that depicts the very essence of friendship and what a little kindness and love can do for a mopy friend. I have read this book countless times to my toddler and she absolutely loves it!! RA.* ELL pre-teach vocab. Teacher resource https://betterlesson.com/lesson/604733/pout-pout-fish #Lae3414spring19
This book teaches that depression is cured with kisses and led to a discussion with my child about consent. So if in the #metoo era you‘re looking for an opportunity to teach a preschooler or kindergartener about consent, maybe read them this book. Otherwise I don‘t recommend it.

An adorable children‘s book about a fish who thinks he‘s destined to be a #debbiedowner but at the end gains a new perspective when another fish sees him in a new light. “I‘m a pout-pout fish with a pout-pout face so I spread the dreary-wearies all over the place.” #NoFemmeBer @Cinfhen @Billypar

The Pout-Pout Fish by Deborah Dieson and illustrated by Dan Hanna is a TL that would be great for a RT. This was a New York Times Bestseller. The book starts off with a gloomy Pout-Pout Fish; the spreads gloom wherever he goes. He repeats himself with each sea creature that he meets, “I‘m a pout-pout fish, with a pout-pout face, So I spread the dreary-wearies all over the place.” It wasn‘t until he met a silent silver shimmer, that gives him a
The Pout Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen is a one of a kind animal fantasy book. It is my daughter's favorite book and we read it almost every night. We basically rap the words to the book because it rhymes and has amazing flow. It is about a fish who basically has "resting b**** face" ?. The link is a song (not rap) that could be used in the classroom https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gynYtBmYlnk #UCFlae3414sp17

The baby made out this year! I actually missed a couple of books to include in the picture but The Pout Pout Fish had been a runaway hit. The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet is for my husband but I plan on getting my hands on it 😉 #BookishGifts #SeasonsReadings2016 #RaisingAReader
Blub, bluub, bluuuuub.
Is it just me, or does the pout pout fish look less pouty and more like he is in a state of sheer terror at times?
Either way, I ❤️ this book so much!
Daddy reading books to our boys before we tuck them in. ??? "Pout Pout Fish" then "I Stink!"
Somehow I missed this one when my daughter was a baby. It was introduced to us when our neighbor invited us over to read to her baby. We now own the board book version! My daughter liked it better than the picture book edition. Better late than never🤓
For #recommendsday I'm throwing a children's book out there because it is my son's FAVORITE. Very silly and fun to read - over and over and over again, like we do!
