I saved this to read in June #pridemonth and #indigenoushistorymonth it‘s a raw, beautiful story of coming of age and coming out on the Rez and in the big city. Joshua Whitehead is a WONDERFUL writer. I look forward to reading more from him

Half as Much by Katherena Vermette was our last #litereads pick for #indigenoushistorymonth and chosen with #canadaday in mind as well. This story is about an elderly Metis man as he learns of the Supreme Court ruling recognizing the Metis as Indians under the constitution. The Trip by Mari Kurisato was this week's #litereads pick, and it both enthralled me for its science fiction worldbuilding and ripped my heart out for its emotional storytelling, so I have to say I personally liked it. Black, Their Regalia by Darcie Little Badger, our latest #litereads selection, is a dark fantasy story in a contemporary setting with a plague sweeping the land and a band kept in quarantine.
