⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A beautiful work that results in provoking deep thought about the ideas that drove societies, key historical figures, and governments through time. Herman invites the reader to take stock of what ideas and world views are driving your daily decisions."

This was a great intro to philosophy. It briefly describes influential events and people that shape our world and history of philosophy to help you decide who you want to research more. It tries to include women. On occasion it is too brief.

My #Roll100 for May is Sophie‘s World.

Glad I am getting to this one, as my mum bought it for me after she read and enjoyed it ☺️

If you find philosophy boring I encourage you to read about Peter Abelard's steamy love affair and the tragic conclusion. It's pretty wild. #nonfiction #history #philosophy

TheBookHippie I think by us reading this or these we are reading what is without the extremist views, mostly and I think it is really smart to do. I think we have pre conceived notions about all people and religions and when reading we see there is not much different in any religion and also how far extremist take it...if that makes sense..... 14mo

TheBookHippie The Prophet (SAAS) says: 'Women are the (equal) sisters of men'. Women make up half of society and they are responsible for the nurturing, guidance and reformation of the subsequent generations of men and women. It is the female who imbues principles and faith into the souls of the nation.
I remember reading this and thinking how close it is to Judaism and how far it is from Christianity .........

This was my understanding before reading this
