I went in with high expectations and most of them were met, except at the very end. It felt a little too “white savior” for me, but I did enjoy getting a peek into Maud‘s past. Ironically enough, I was talking to my boyfriend about homemade gingerbread houses the day I bought this book, so now we have a recipe!

SPOILERS FOR DISCUSSION! Just finished Picture of Dorian Grey for the first time and I‘m intrigued by the ending. Generally online I found the idea that when Dorian Grey stabs the portrait he absorbs all the fates of the image including the knife to the heart leaving the picture in tact.

I‘m wondering how many of you have other interpretations or thoughts?

This one was…interesting? The book credits it as being the first vampire tale, written in 1819. I‘m not sure what the excerpts about Lord Byron were about? They didn‘t seem to have a point. Anyway, I think it‘s funny that this is where vampires started and Twilight is where they are now lol.
