“Night‘s Master is like a treasure chest spilled open with cascading dreams of silk, jewels, demon horses, perfumes, spices, tapestries, and (most precious of all) a sense of wonder.”
Love this description. This was a great beginning to Lee‘s arabesque fantasy series Tales from the Flat Earth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1. Yes. Some books I will buy or avoid because of the cover.
2. The second book in a series I‘m collecting.
3. I usually avoid the news. I read some articles online once in a while, and I get emails from The Skimm.
4. I‘m a big fan of the snooze button. My cats are not. They start bugging me to get up as soon as the alarm goes off.
5. Anyone who wants to join in.

Stories I suspect were originally mostly part of the last book, which had a lot less diversions than the first three. Think it got too long so the publishers took them out.
Beautiful writing - some of them are very moving.
Fourth in her Flat Earth series.
Interlocking stories in a psuedo Near Eastern style. Winged Lions, gold and jewels, the sun and the moon meeting as lovers, etc.
Gorgeous writing.
This was a lot of fun to reread after finishing the series! Thankfully the person I buddy read with liked it too. I may have made a new Tanith Lee fan. 😊
I enjoyed how the shorts stories wove together though the entire book.
Daisy feels I should include a specific warning on this book. If starting #NightsMaster, after recently reading #GatherTheDaughters, prepare for your experience to be a bit...skewed. I think that's the least spoilery way to put it. I tried to explain to her that we readers can handle it, but she sees us humans as a weak lot. Rude. Also, typical cat thinking.
