So hard to pick a #FavoriteBannedBook but there you have it.
This almost look like a banned book shelf, but nope; these are books that were assigned reading in school (except for The Communist Manifesto, I read that last year).

As a high schooler and as a teacher, this is a favorite. I always read Ch. 25 out loud to my students--even the “fuck yous“ because to not do so would be censoring the book--something I would never do. That was fine for ALL the years I taught. Not one parent complaint. Until 2020. In the 21st century. I am terrified a Handmaid's-Tale world is not far away.
Amazingly, one of the reasons this book has been banned is “bias against male students.” 😳 #FavoriteBannedBook #MarchMagic
Book bans have exploded so much recently in the US that I couldn‘t figure out how to pick just one #FavoriteBannedBook from the list. Last year there were more than 2500 bans and this year is shaping up to be even worse. A surprising number of the bans are spearheaded by political lobbying groups and reflect reflect or impact proposed local legislation. #MarchMagic @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
#MarchMagic Day 27: Still my #FavoriteBannedBook. Fats wrote a super detailed review of this picturebook here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-deX
