4✨ This was a very enjoyable retelling. Mulan goes to save a friend who shouldn‘t be dying yet in the underworld. She travels through many challenges and risks everything to save them. I just wish Mushu was in the story. It could have used a little bit of comedy. Read for #FairytaleReading Challenge @Charityann

The #FairytaleReading Challenge was hard for me to pick for the month of March. I had a couple retellings on my shelves that said they were retellings, but didn‘t feel really connected to the story. I happen to come across this one, and after some consultation with a friend, it‘s my choice for the month.

I enjoy this Beauty and the Beast retelling. It is more from the Beast perspective, before and during the curse. There were different elements that I liked because it was like those movies about Greek mythology where the gods manipulate others actions. But I wished it could add more details during the process he knew Belle. The end was a little rushed but the book only has 214 pages. Love that cover😍This is the dust jacket and the book naked 3⭐️

A YA Snow White retelling. It was different, morbid in someway but interesting. I enjoyed in general but I don‘t know why some authors insist to unnecessarily prolongue a story. Do they have to meet a certain amount of pages to publish a book? I don‘t matter if the books is long when the purpose is to know more the world or the characters but this was not the case. But I enjoy this author‘s retellings. 3.4⭐️

A creepy, dark, chilling retelling of Snow White. This is a graphic novel with a few dialogue or narrative but the art, the illustrations are spectacular. So pretty and the story is a good retelling, dark, gory, and twisted one, love it. But how you rate a graphic novel with limited narrative🤷🏽‍♀️All I know is that I was captivated by the illustrations.

#MyNewYearWhoDis2022 @sharron was my partner in this event, it is supposed to last the whole year. I will continue reading books during year 2022 from her favorite/pick books posted in Litsy. I hope no one feel offended by my decision. I only will write the name of the event. I‘m doing it in her memory. @monalysha

4.7⭐️ this was my Beauty and the Beast retelling for February‘s #fairytalereading. I love how this retelling is just a little bit darker. If you have ever seen Wishmaster, there‘s a similar vibe without the Jinn. Can‘t believe I‘ve let this one sit on my shelf for years without picking it up. So thank you @Charityann for hosting this challenge that got me to finally read this amazing book.

Trying to finish a few to fill in new ones to finish series. Plus I had some plans for #fairytalereading and #foodandlit2022 that didn‘t make it on here. I need to finish quite a few books that have been living on my TBR. Hoping to finish at least 2 series next month. 🤩 #Bookspinbingo #Bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

4.8⭐️ it‘s like Snow White meets Game of Thrones… The YA version. It was funny, and sweet, and tragic and powerful and it had dragons. I loved it and while this story is over I‘ll probably continue with the series. #fairytalereading

I couldn‘t decide which Snow White I wanted to read for the #fairytalereading challenge. So I picked both tales available on https://surlalunefairytales.com. The re-tellings I chose are Snow & Rose that I‘m audiobooking on libby and Fairest of All, my own ebook copy.

I wasn‘t sure what to expect going into this fairy tale retelling set in Depression era West Virginia but I really liked it and will be looking forward to reading more by Yolen.
