I'm supposed to be out shopping, and I'm sitting in the parking lot de-stressing by #hidingandreading - yeah, that's how my day went. Gonna take a lot of reading to erase this one, but thankfully this #doorstop is up to it. 😜 Thanks for being my refuge, Littens. 😘

AileenRR The car can be a cozy place to read 😊 6y
wanderinglynn Hiding & reading is one of my favorite things to do, particularly when stressed or anxious. Hope your day gets better & less stressed. 💜 6y
LittlePixels @AileenRR It really is! It's sad but true that sometimes those few stolen moments are the highlight of my day. 😜 6y
LittlePixels @wanderinglynn Yeah, I may have done this a few times before. 😉 And thanks, the brief respite helped a lot! 📚 6y

If you're reading a book that's 850 pages long, at what point do you start to feel you're "almost to the end?" For me, it's usually about 200 pages left. Which could be the entire length of a different book. #perspectiveiseverything #doorstop #ilikebigbooks

Ashley_Nicoletto 100 pages left is the landmark for me. 7y
cariashley I'd agree, 150-200 for really long books like that. I do a lot of staring at the spine exactly like you're doing in this picture throughout though! 7y
EvieBee That's true. I keep doing that bookmark test where I can get a birds' eye view, and when it looks about 75% done, I feel like I'm making progress. That looks about 90% finished to me! 🤓 (edited) 7y
JanuarieTimewalker13 Hahahahaha! I'm so happy I'm not alone in my book craziness!! I think for my edition of IT, I'm going to call 200 pages as almost over. lol I'm starting to get fidgety now... 7y

In the mood to start a doorstop! The second in this series, looking forward to some sea serpents, talking ships, and rain wild magic! It's only 850 pages, how long could it take to read?!🤣🤣📚

TrishB What a cover 😀😀 not see this one! 7y
TsundokuAleax I read that ages ago. Never got around to finishing the series though. Maybe I should work on that. 7y
Marmie7 I'm getting reading to start Ship of Magic! Can't wait to get lost again in this world😁 7y

I don't mind that many of my #doorstops have no covers. And most of them are partially-read. The type on the Maugham spine is worn off. #doorstop #doorstopper #doorstoppers #riotgrams

#Infinitejestbuddyread #week3 quote of the week: Everyone should get at least one good look at the eyes of a man who finds himself rising toward the bar they're trying to pull down."

monkeygirlsmama I'm drastically behind this week. I've only read about 20 or so pages of this week's allotment. Tomorrow I plan to play catch up. 8y
JenP @monkeygirlsmama that's more than me! I'm playing catch up today. On page 135 8y
Flaneurette You guys have almost convinced me it's time for a reread of IJ- I had forgotten all about the towel guru! 8y

JenP @Flaneurette we're not too far in yet so there's time to join in! I did love this weird section. 8y
LeahBergen That towel guru?!?!? 8y
Donna_sBookMinute I'm hoping someone does this again. I'm focusing primarily on #BlackHistoryMonth titles this month. I've already squeezed in a non-related title; but this #doorstop requires more attention than I can give right now. Enjoy your read. 8y

Some books are a little sensitive about the width of their spine. #ILikeBigBooksAndICannotLie #BookBlues #JimmyRead #doorstop #doorstops #bigbook #bigbooks #weightytomes #funny #humor

AAdamson Don't fall asleep in bed reading that book--it might land on your face! 8y
LilMamaMastro Doorstop for sure, but.....THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF FANTASY! Yes, please! 8y
moranadatter That book is a candidate for the bottom shelf if I ever saw one. No sense risking a concussion or worse. 8y
TheLondonBookworm @LeahBergen it is a book of epic proportions 😂😂 8y
TheLondonBookworm @BookishFeminist exactly!!! It's humongous, I kinda feel the urge to go through the whole thing cover to cover... 8y
TheLondonBookworm @Laura317 hmm no although death by book, there are worse ways to go 😂 8y
TheLondonBookworm @AAdamson haha no that would not be a good idea. I did drop a book on someone's head on the tube before.. she wasn't pleased 😂😂 8y
TheLondonBookworm @LilMamaMastro hehehe I love it!! So interesting 8y
TheLondonBookworm @kmdartist for sure! I do sleep under several shelves of books though, it's a freak accident just waiting to happen 👻👽☠️ 8y
