Current mood: the anticipation and joy that comes with finding a new favorite author.
I'd started Instructions for a Heatwave before but bailed. Going to try again. Maybe it will be my #changedyourmindabout book.

I first read this in high school and thought it was unbearably slow. Then, I reread it in college and absolutely loved it. #ChangedYourMindAbout #FeistyFeb
I read this in 1999 and really didn't care for it so it sat on my bookshelf for years. Then a couple of years ago some Goodreads friends began raving about it so I bowed to pressure and re-read it...loved it. It just goes to show that books have more meaning at different times in your life.

#feistyfeb day 4: #changedyourmindabout. The most recent book I changed my mind about was Fates and Furies. I was reading it, not impressed, not seeing what the hype was about...and then I got to the second half. Once Mathilde became the POV character, I was riveted. Totally changed my opinion of the book. I'm so glad I stuck with it.
#changedyourmindabout I was young in my teens when trying for Frankenstein, perhaps looking for something scarier as a Stephen King fan. I wasn't quite getting the dialogue, but now I really do 🤔 the existential philosophy of Frankenstein's monster became a fascinating reread over the years, as a fully cool love for the story! #feistyfeb
It's interesting how many times Wuthering Heights and Harry Potter came up in #changedyourmindabout.
I had to read this in high school for an English course and I just couldn't get through it. I picked it up again about 20 years later and I absolutely LOVED it! I enjoyed it so much, I'm almost afraid to read it again. But I will one day. #day4 #changedyourmindabout #feistyfeb
#feistyfeb #changedyourmindabout I thought about this one all day and could not think of anything. But then as I was lying in bed last night it hit me - Litsy has changed my mind about reading nonfiction! I never picked up a nonfiction book and avoided that area of the bookstore because I thought nonfiction was for serious people and I read for fun. I now have these four on my shelves and more I want on my TBR list thanks to all of you! ❤️
So I realize I posted about this yesterday, but honestly, since I've read it so many times, it is also the book I've changed my mind about the most. I ADORED Holden in high school (because of course I did), haaaated him in college, and the last time or two I read it, I felt more motherly and concerned for his well-being. #changedyourmindabout #FeistyFeb
For a new shot, here's a better view of my bottom-of-the-page dogears.

@RealLifeReading
Began Middlemarch in my teens because it was my older sister's favorite classic. Bailed almost immediately; hated it! Now I am more than halfway through the novel on serial reader & I am enjoying it so! Needed maturity? Or becoming less afraid of "fat" books?!
