#booksynchronicity
I‘ve been working on Lies My Teacher Told Me, but I have to do it in spurts because it‘s an ebook and the screen is hard on my eyes. I finished the chapter Gone With the Wind, about history textbooks making racism invisible. Then I turned to the tagged book to relieve my eye strain, and here we have a librarian recommending Gone With the Wind. Interesting.

Twenty-one philosophers investigate the implications of the Jurassic Park franchise for our lives, our values, and our future. Human beings live and thrive by modifying nature, but when do the risks of changing nature outweigh the likely benefits?

@Klou

Reggie @vivastory there‘s passage in Survivor Song that made me think of that post you posted about the Jurassic Park theory, how the more safeguards are put into place the higher rate of failure, a long long time ago and now taking a break from the book here is @Eggs posting about this book. #booksynchronicity 4y
rajithr Implications of the franchise is perhaps the million dinosaur toys that the kids make their parents buy, the spends on which could have otherwise fed half the world's people. I haven't really heard of dino toys till JPark. 🤓 4y
vivastory @Reggie JP is a quintessential summer movie for me #booksynchronicity is the best 4y

The protagonist of The Women of the Copper Country, which I just finished, was named Annie Clements.

Now I have just met her name twin, Anne Clements, in Murder in the Mill-Race.

When you‘re reading your way through the Histories of Middle Earth with the #YearOfTolkien #LOTRHistory group and your other read for #PratchettPosse #OokBOokClub throws in a gollum reference.

Small book world! #BookSynchronicity

And honestly, the witches are smart.😉😂

Daisey This is a great reference! They seem to be everywhere lately. I even stumbled across one in my current YA read today. (edited) 5y
jillrhudy Adore, adore, adore 🥰🥰🥰 5y
JazzFeathers Fantastic! I need to read more Pratchett. I'm intrigued by the Night Watch series. I read the first book and l liked it (even in ltalian, though l think Pratchett needs to be read in the original form). But l hear the Witches are particularly outstanding. 5y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @JazzFeathers I started with an offshoot of the witches.... Tiffany Aching, which is a YA Pratchett and feel in love there, so the witches have always been my favorite. 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Daisey I think because we are steeped in Tolkien at the moment, we are noticing them even more often. 5y
Daisey @Riveted_Reader_Melissa You may have a point there. I do think I‘ve become more attuned with more reading, but I also think I‘ve been lucky in a good selection of books currently. Another one today in 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Daisey That one‘s on my list to read yet too, I was hoping to read it with the group, but at the rate I‘m going it won‘t happen until next year. Oh well, so many books, not enough time!🤷‍♀️ 5y

I put this book down for over a month while I re-read Harry Potter for its anniversary this year. What a bizarre coincidence to finish Voldemort's quest to eradicate Muggles & Mud-Bloods while White Supremacists marched on the current news, and then to pick this book back up today and find the place I left off all those weeks ago right at the start of Nazi genetics/eugenics. If that's not a #BookCoincidence #BookSynchronicity I don't know what is.

Laalaleighh Reading this excerpt made my chest hurt. 7y
Laalaleighh Also Voldemort is totally based on Hitler but grindlewald is Hitler. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Laalaleighh Me too! I'm thinking that poor baby's name should be remember and well known. 😢 7y

Things I realize: that I am not a teen
Things I also realize: there are better written dystopias that are for teens
Therefore: while premise is promising, characters aren't dragging me to book two.

Good news is that I finished my second book of #litsypartyofone

BarbaraTheBibliophage Less than a minute after I saw your post, this book showed up in the show we're binging. #booksynchronicity 8y

Some beautiful, touching, and moving stuff in this poetry collection, full of history and life stories. But this poem hit me at the right time and the right day today. Sometime synchronicity or #booksynchronicity is right on the money and you couldn't plan it better if you had tried.
