I left Minerva alone with my book and she nibbled the corner of the cover! 😱 Sigh. I can't even get that angry with her because I KNOW she tries to chew everything so I don't usually leave her unattended with anything she might decide looks tasty, but honestly! haileybean @readinginthedark for this book, especially, it‘s helped me think and process it more. I‘ve been taking my time with it and slowly making my way through. In some cases I‘ve read different takes on the folktales she talks about and gone back through with those notes. It‘s definitely been an enjoyable experience! 7y

emily_jkn Ugh. Was it Amazon? I stopped buying from them because the packaging is so bad. Instocktrades.com does an excellent job. 8y

moranadatter Ugh! Sorry that happened to you. I've been having that problem a lot too. Another Litten recommended Book Depository and I've found Midtown Comics does a good job packing for shipping too. 8y

MyNamesParadise Sometimes I prefer buying books in person- whether Barnes & Noble or Target bc then I have control over the copy I get. I will literally dig through all the copies until I get the best one! 8y

BookHermit @MyNamesParadise That is the ideal situation. My penny-pinching self wanted the points and the extra % off for the online purchase. It's the crapshoot factor that gets to me. 8/10 no problem but then -bang!-book sacrilege! 8y

MyNamesParadise @BookHermit yeah I love those online deals!!! I like ordering multiple items at once if so bc then they'll come in a big enough of a box that the mail lady won't try and shove it in the mailbox and most likely damaging them as a result. 8y

MyNamesParadise @BookHermit I usually only buy books in person if I have a coupon, a gift card, or their store credit card that helps me save 5% haha. I hate paying more for things than I have to! 8y

BookHermit @MyNamesParadise I have persuaded my husband not to buy a book at the bookstore just so that we could order it online and save a few bucks. I have also asked him to return and repurchase books at the store just to get the points on my card 😳 8y

Idk if I should admit this but for the celebrity memoir book on cd phase I'm going through, when I'm done listening to it I upload the CDs to my iTunes... 😏(I get them from the library). New release print books I always get from the library first if it's an author I don't know or even if it's one I do bc sometimes the same authors books aren't all the same quality. 8y
