Life‘s too short to stick with a book that leaves me feeling lukewarm! Had to bail on The Third Witch because it didn‘t capture my imagination within the first ten chapters. Life is just too short to read books you don't enjoy! I'm not even remotely getting into this one ... the dialogue warrants multiply eye rolls. I believe it falls under YA genre, which I'm not a fan of, which could be why I dislike it so much. Could be something for someone you enjoys YA, teen narration and suspense.

• I misread or misunderstood the synopsis of the tagged book: this is a young adult novel with a MC in high school. The language and manner of speaking shows Emoni's annoying youth. It might be a good story, but I can't read a character who commonly uses the slang word "moms." No thank you, not at this time and doubtful in the future •

Full of promise until I started reading. The narrative voice didn't appeal to me, making it a story I had to push my way through. Rather than suffering, I quit and moved on. #bookbail #timebetterspent

Ugh, I don't like this at all. The screaming, raging main character ruins everything, and I can't care about the "mystery".

Hmm, I don't know about this one. All the reviews I've read are glowing, but so far it just seems like gossipy school moms. Maybe I'm not the right audience, or maybe I'm still in the "getting to know the characters" part. Should I stick with it?

I've been working on this for 3 weeks. It was due back at the library today, and I was 3/4 of the way through. I decided I would rather save myself the one day late charge. It wasn't bad. I just wasn't that invested.

When the "romantic tension" in a relationship is one partner literally trying to murder the other, it's time for me to head for the exit. There's a lot of progressive stuff going on in this book but seriously, could we stop encouraging girls to date the boy who wants to kill them?

I truly hate to do this but I have made it to 42% and it is just such a drag for me. None of the characters seem to jump out at me and the book itself seems flat and two dimensional. I may give it another go once I've had a little break.
