This is a re-imagining of Alice In Wonderland, but as a horror story.Alice is in a mental asylum, she doesn't remember how she got there, or how she got the scar on her face, but she dreams of a man with rabbit ears and a knife. Her only friend is Hatcher, the crazy man next door, until a fire allows them to escape.
pickI don't generally read mystery series, and I would never have tried a series narrated by a dog. But my book club chose a Chet and Bernie mystery and I was shocked to find myself charmed by it. #betterthanexpected #novemberland
pickI didn't know what to expect when I started this book, but boy was I blown away. Oyeyemi has woven a masterful tale that looks at race and identity through the lens of a fairy-tale retelling. Perhaps I underestimate YA books in general, but this fabulous book speaks deeply on many topics and the scenes are beautifully drawn. Highly recommended for all audiences! 🌕🌖🌗🌑🌒🌓🌔🌚
