Anyone travel alone for a private getaway to the beach? Any suggestions where to go in the states?

TheBookHippie I do. I‘ve not traveled there since 2019 but…I‘ve stayed at https://hoteldel.com/ I love the history and they have a cool history tour and I‘ve walked the island. There‘s a fun ghost story too. I travel alone once a year at least -but usually city life -Chicago NYC San Fransisco. When my daughter was little her and I would travel alone to Boca Raton Fl to see my grandpa. It‘s on the list to go back. We always felt safe there. 2y
ImperfectCJ Do you like to swim in the ocean or just hang out on the beach? What else do you like to do on a vacation? Would this be during the winter or spring/summer? There are lots of great places to go, but it kind of depends on what you're looking for. I live in San Diego and like it here a lot, but it's chilly right now, great for tidepooling. If you like swimming, Gulf of Mexico is warm and calm. I used to love visiting Beaufort, NC (historic + beach). 2y
Bookwormjillk Where are you coming from and are you driving or flying? What time of year? 2y

Pageturner1 @Bookwormjillk @ImperfectCJ @thebookhippie. I want to go to a beach to sit and relax, walk around in the water, have a bar with beach drinks nearby, a place that provides massages and great sightseeing. wanting to go in spring or early summer. I would be flying but maybe driving depends location. I am coming from Kentucky. 2y
Bookwormjillk Maybe Indian Rocks Beach in Florida? 2y
Pageturner1 thanks @Bookwormjillk i will look into it 2y
ImperfectCJ Siesta Key Beach in Florida is nice. Santa Cruz Beach in California could work, maybe one of the beaches near LA (like Newport Beach or Dana Point). A friend from Indiana goes to the same spot in South Carolina every year and it seems like what you're looking for. I think it's near Myrtle Beach, but I'll see if I can get the name. 2y
TheBookHippie @ImperfectCJ oh I love Newport Beach too. 2y
swishandflick I travel alone all the time! Puerto Rico can be a great way to not need a passport but getaway to the Caribbean. Also Clearwater and the Keys 👌🏽 (Also don't be afraid to travel solo outside of the US too! You can get some GREAT all-inclusive deals in Mexico that are more affordable than the US! I do it ALL the time). (edited) 2y
Pageturner1 thank you @ImperfectCJ and @swishandflick they all sound great. will check them out. @swishandflick it will be my first time solo so a little anxiety but i would love to visit the Caribbean and the Keys. 2y
swishandflick If you're a little nervous (which is totally understandable) it can be nice to test the waters with an all-inclusive resort! That way you enjoy all of the beautiful beaches, food, etc, without having to venture too far away solo. I also always share my location (on my iphone) with my mom and a trusted friend. Makes me feel more comfortable knowing that someone knows exactly where I am 😆 Traveling alone is the BEST. Do what you want, when you want (edited) 2y
SamAnne I recently went to the Florida Keys and have suggestions if that is where you choose to go. Headed to Kauiai Hawaii on Wednesday and can offer you suggestions there too. Depending on where you are planning to go. Personally, I love traveling alone!

ImperfectCJ I checked, and my friend from Indiana goes to Hilton Head Island, SC, which looks like it might have a lot of the things you're looking for. I can also second others' Florida Keys recommendation. 2y
Pageturner1 @SamAnne Wow Hawaii! yes all suggestions appreciated. email me at hcolyer@live.com if want. thank you 😊 2y
