Oh, this was really lovely. Now I finally know what is my favorite kind of fantasy book. I've been reading fantasy, but it has never been my go-to genre. These characters are so sweet and cuddly, even though they are meant to be scary creatures. The world building is simply awesome. I can't wait to read more. ❤️

Another good Others book, but still not as good as the original series. I love that the real monsters are human. The multiple POV format was hard to follow, but I think that‘s deliberate. I saw some of the twists coming, which didn‘t make it any less disturbing or good to read. You must have read at least the previous Lake Silence book, ideally the entire series, or you will be adrift for the whole book.
May 28 #MayMontage Water I read this in 2018, it was part of The World of Others series from Anne Bishop. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
#litsylovecardswap. I'm sorry litsy friends - my holiday cards have turned into "Happy New Year" cards and will be hitting the mail tomorrow. @LibrarianRyan
Reading and in between I'm knitting. First sock is finished! Yeah, first pair of self knit socks!
That moment when the book is creepy because of humans playing mind games and not a freaky supernatural boogeyman duo, even though they existed and by all rights were very creepy. Humans suck man.
The upside is this little connecting sentence between this book series and it‘s sister series:
“P.S. Meg said I need to work on how humans say sorry. I said giving you books is better.”
I agree. Books are better.
For the record, I am immensely creeped out and incredibly thankful that I chose to sleep last night instead of reading this book after dark…. Even now, 4:30 pm, full daylight with sunset at nearly 9 pm….. I‘m not sure this book is a good idea…… I need a comfort something. Where‘s my mini 🐉 plushie George….. 😱 😱
It‘s not possible for me to explain just how much I love this book series and it‘s rich and vivid universe. It doesn‘t matter that I‘ve read this book well over 10 times. It remains an emotional lesson in found family, acceptance and growth. With a little growling and snarling to add character.
