Never would‘ve guessed how it all turned out! The more you read, the more you see how intertwined these characters lives truly are. How much harm has been done and by one common denominator. Justice was served truly. #lucyfoley #crime #murdermystery #thriller #mystery #5star #bookreview #theguestlist #paperback

These are books set in France that I have read and enjoyed.
And the lights went out.
A 3 might be generous for this one. I feel like it kind of fell flat on its face. A lot of red herrings I knew would be fake.
Can‘t believe it took me so long to read it but I have been packing and my life has been insane and maybe that didn‘t help my enjoyment of the book.
Meh.

Setting: Island off coast of Ireland. Guests are gathered for a wedding which turns dark and deadly. Reminiscent of Agatha Christie. Alternating POVs keep you guessing and guessing wrong. Lots of clues keep the pages turning to a surprise ending I never saw coming. Plot is clever and characters are interesting. I would highly recommend this atmospheric thriller and I look forward to Foley‘s next book.

I‘m outside today listening to my audiobook, #TheGuestList, and #NarratorWithADifferentAccent While I am in the US, Jot Davies‘ UK accent is different than mine. I‘m sitting in my lounge chair in the shade as I am on antibiotics with a warning label to stay out of direct sun.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Some friends go to a hunting lodge and a blizzard hits. One of the friends is murdered. Who could it be? This honestly reminded me of the pacing of a Ruth Ware novel. It was well done and I loved each of the point of views. I docked a star because I guessed who was murdered, but I didn‘t guess who did it and why they did it. There were some good twists too.
